Janina Kanonas Fenton
Registered Psychotherapist
ABOUT ME
I am a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. In 2011, I completed a Masters of Arts in Counselling and have since been working in the field at the university level, non-for-profit and private practice settings. My experience includes coming alongside people who are struggling with anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, self-esteem, eating disorders, grief and loss, and childhood trauma. I have a particular passion for working with adolescents and women, and joining with them to overcome the issues they bring to therapy.
I have been described as a warm, compassionate and welcoming person by those who know me. I enjoy being with people, hearing their stories and coming alongside them as they seek greater healing and wholeness for their lives and relationships.
I am also fluent in French and Spanish and I am
available for counselling in these languages.

COUNSELLING APPROACH
Respect, Partnership, Compassion...

I believe that a collaborative counselling relationship is a key ingredient in achieving a positive experience in therapy. I will partner with you to address the concerns and challenges you are facing within an atmosphere of safety and respect.
I will listen to your story in a way that is open, non-judgmental, attentive and curious to understand where you are coming from. I believe that each person is valuable and unique, and that each life story holds meaning. I seek to create a space where each person can experience being seen, heard and understood. As we partner with one another, I am confident that our mutual commitment to the therapy process will lead to greater wellbeing in your life and relationships.
You can rest assured that high ethical standards and confidentiality are very important. I seek to honor the trust that you place in taking the step to try counselling. Thank you for your courage and the privilege of partnering with you in your growth and healing.

''WE ASK OURSELVES, WHO AM I TO BE GORGEOUS, TALENTED, BRILLIANT, FABULOUS? ACTUALLY, WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE? .''
Marianne Williamson
SUPERVISION
I am qualified to provide supervision as determined by the CRPO. My supervision style is relational and collaborative. You can read in greater detail about what to expect in supervision with me in one of the PDF links provided below, the document entitled Supervision Informed Consent.
In a nutshell, my intention in a supervision session is to partner with you in opening up a space where we can process client concerns and challenges together. I do not seek to direct your therapy work. Rather I honour your own wisdom and process with your clients, and I come alongside you with the goal of continued growth and learning in your work as a therapist!
Didactic and group supervision options are also offered.

please meet Sharon Arruda

I am in my final year of my degree at Yorkville University in the Master’s of Arts Counselling Psychology program. I have always had a heart for helping others. As a young child, I spent many recesses “counselling” my peers, which usually involved the breakdown of a friendship. I came to realize the importance of relationships and how they can affect people in many areas of their lives.
Currently, my main interests are in counselling those struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships, and self-esteem. I have been described as caring, honest, patient, and nonjudgmental. My goal is to work together with clients to come up with a plan for counselling that they are comfortable with and to make necessary adjustments as needed.
Personally, I am a mother of four children and have been married for 12 years. I also have a dog, a cat, and two rabbits.
